WATCH
YARANGA and YURTA cryostats are the first Russian complexes designed to operate at extremely low temperatures. YARANGA is focused on the deepest temperature regimes, YURTA is focused on stable and reproducible operation in the sub-kelvin range. The project combined high requirements for accuracy, reliability and ease of use, and industrial design became a tool for streamlining a complex engineering system and adapting it to real conditions of use.
Yaranga
Dissolution cryostat to obtain millikelvin temperatures (0.018K from absolute zero).
Yurta
Optical cryostat of ultra-low temperatures up to 0.45 K.
TASK
To develop a modern and original design, improve ergonomics and user comfort, organize the arrangement of equipment and cables, simplify the installation and dismantling of pump panel panels, optimize the storage of fasteners and tools, and create a scalable and distinctive visual language.
ANALYTICS
We examine the laboratory and the conditions of working with the cryostat. We conduct competitive market research. We record successful solutions and shortcomings. We draw conclusions, hypotheses and form criteria for successful design and ergonomics.
